Introducing Bing AI and Copilot

Now you have heard of and hopefully used ChatGPT but have you heard of Bing AI?

Bing, more than just a search engine?!

Bing is not just a search engine, but an intelligent assistant designed to make information accessible and useful. With its advanced capabilities, Bing AI can understand and communicate fluently in multiple languages, generate creative content, and even identify errors in conversation.

Whether you’re looking for innovative ways to engage your students, seeking assistance with content creation, or simply need help constructing an email reply, Bing AI is here to help.

Copilot

You can access Bing AI through Bing Chat or if you use the Microsoft Edge browser you get access to Copilot (Bing AI) directly from the sidebar.

CopilotYour everyday AI companion” is integrated into Microsoft 365 apps like Word, PowerPoint, Excel and more including the Edge browser. You should expect to see it popping up in your apps and on your device soon.

Bing AI is equipped with a range of features designed to provide an engaging, intelligent, and helpful user experience. Some key features include:

  1. Content Generation: it has the ability to generate creative content such as poems, stories, essays, images from text prompts and more. It can also assist users in improving their own content.
  2. Content and Document Summarisation: it can summarise content from websites and documents, including PDFs, making it easier to consume dense information.
  3. Error Identification and Rectification: it can identify errors in the conversation and rectify them by providing accurate information.
  4. Image Understanding: it understands images that users upload, providing descriptions and relevant information. If there is text on an image it can also be extracted into the chat.

As we have Microsoft 365 accounts at the college we all get access to Bing AI Enterprise which offers Data Protection where chat data is not saved and Microsoft can’t view it, it will also not leak outside of the organisation.
