Ofsted lesson observation instructions
Add an Ofsted user account to teams for lesson observations

- Navigate to the relevant Teams site.
- Select the ellipses next to the site title.
- Select the Add Member option from the menu.
- Type the name of the user you are adding – you will be notified of this prior to the lesson.
*note all of our Ofsted accounts begin with ofsted.user - Select Add
- Select Close
- The Ofsted account has been added with the same privileges as a learner.
Adding the Ofsted inspector to your Lesson

- Click on participants
- From the list of people on the right select Request join next to the ofsted.user account
Removing the Ofsted inspector after the lesson

- Select the 3 dots next to the right of the Teams site title.
- Select Manage team.
- Expand the Members and Guests section.
- Find the Ofsted account then click X to the right.
Instructions for collecting assessment evidence for Ofsted
As part of this Ofsted inspection, if you are involved in the deep dives you will need to upload you will need to download evidence of assessment from Turnitin and add it to the central Ofsted Teams site. Follow the instruction videos below to find out how:
Downloading evidence from Turnitin in LearnZone

- Navigate to your course page.
- Locate the Turnitin Submissions link.
- The Turnitin submissions page will load with a list of your learners at the bottom.
- Use the checkboxes to select the learner’s submissions you wish to download.
*note checkboxes only appear for learners who have submitted. - Use the Download drop-down list near the top and select Selected GradeMark Files.
- This will prepare your submissions into a zip file for download.
*note this may take a while depending on how many submissions you are downloading. - Once the file is ready a link to the zip file will appear within the pop-up window.
- Access the link to download your zip file to the Downloads folder on your computer.
- Rename the Zip file appropriately after the download has completed.
- You may need to upload submission files individually to the Ofsted Teams site.
Joining the Ofsted Microsoft Teams site and uploading your evidence

- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Access the list of teams from the menu on the left.
- On the left-hand side at the bottom of the list select Join or create a team.
- Use the Join a team with a code box and enter this code ol72g41.
- You have now been added to the Ofsted Teams site.
- From the tabs at the top of the screen navigate to the Files section.
- Several folders have already been created, select the one that is appropriate for you.
- Create a sub-folder for your course and then further sub-folders for your learners work using the + New from the menu.
- Using File explorer locate the file/s that you wish to upload.
*note make sure it is named appropriately. - Drag and drop the file into the space that says Drag file here.
