After much stumbling across the internet for resources on using social media in the classroom, I came across this blog which explains the reasons for ‘doing’ social media in the classroom. This concise guide (with relatively little use of jargon- which is surprising in any written passage relating to technology) will take you through the most important elements of the use of social media as an educational tool but also as a marketing and networking device.
This blog is written by Josie Alquist, a Doctoral student in Higher Education Leadership, who is currently researching social media in higher education. Although the content of this blog is directed at the HE environment, the principles she discusses are still relevant to the FE classroom.
