Glossary #34 – Storyboards

Storyboards: these allow developers to outline e-Learning courses before the creation of the resource begins. This helps designers identify what texts, visuals and other elements they want to incorporate as they develop the course.

For example: When the eLearning team begin projects with curriculum staff, we build storyboards (sometimes using Powerpoint) to illustrate what we think the resource will look like. It is in this process where curriculum staff can edit, amend or change any of the content they wish before it is created using authoring software.
