Free online CPD course for vocational leaders, teachers and trainers

A free CPD course is being developed for use by all interested in using technology to enhance learning in line with Feltag recommendations.

The development group (which includes Loughborough College) is asking for feedback on the proposed curriculum and learning design of a free online CPD course for vocational leaders, teachers and trainers, funded by Ufi and delivered on the Futurelearn platform (www.futurelearn.com). You can watch a short video about the course on YouTube https://youtu.be/T7h_H-ZAXz4. The course will launch in November 2015 and addresses many of the training needs identified in the FELTAG report . It is intended to support you in:

  • improving the quality and flexibility of your programme delivery to your students
  • preparing your learners for the world of work
  • using the appropriate learning technologies effectively in your professional practice
  • creating a community of professional practice in blended learning through the provision of inspiration and guidance

The CPD course is created by the sector for the sector. It is not primarily seen as an instructional course, but as a collaborative learning opportunity among professionals.

The range of capability in the sector is very wide, and the course is intended to support not only those with limited experience in using technology to enhance their teaching but also innovators who are leading the way and are seeking like minded ‘champions’ to further their understanding. For this reason, your input is vital to the development of a course which meets your needs and is delivered in a way which suits your requirements. Thanks in advance for your participation.
