{"id":9026,"date":"2024-06-05T07:48:16","date_gmt":"2024-06-05T07:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/?p=9026"},"modified":"2024-06-20T13:53:52","modified_gmt":"2024-06-20T13:53:52","slug":"goodbye-flip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/2024\/06\/05\/goodbye-flip\/","title":{"rendered":"Goodbye Flip"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Microsoft has announced that after 12 years Flip (once known as Flipgrid) will be <a href=\"https:\/\/pages.flip.com\/index.php\/email\/emailWebview?email=NzkwLUhWVy02NDcAAAGTgTU5gdSUH_YlL3N47HtpiIGSM-t8x24aMbyLN4kFzNzvZHCXi2njalBIldh20sK68IENxeEOPvWkrE087Z59dxp1QZSXCTk0nA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">retired<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The website and mobile apps will become <strong>view-only from the 1st of July<\/strong>, and you will no longer be able to create new groups, topics or videos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The website and apps will then <strong>fully retire on the 30th of September<\/strong> so you will have until then to download any or all of your videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What can I use now?<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Never fear, Microsoft has moved some of the core Flip features into Teams. Currently, these are accessible through Assignments in a Class Teams. Here teachers can add a video recording and students can submit video recordings where the camera has built-in Flip features. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Microsoft also integrated a lot of the features into Stream as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to download your videos <\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have used Flip with your students, we recommend downloading and storing all video submissions safely within a staff Teams site. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To find out <strong>how to download your own videos<\/strong> from Flip watch our super quick video below.
