To minimize the impact on learners and staff we are going to complete the process over a weekend.<br><br><strong>Friday 7<sup>th<\/sup> July \u2013 Sunday 9<sup>th<\/sup> July<\/strong> \u2013 FELearnZone, HE LearnZone, and StaffZone sites cannot be used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Monday 10<sup>th<\/sup> July 8:30am<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>HELearnZone access restored<\/strong> and can be used as normal<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tuesday 11th July 8:30am &#8211; FELearnZone and StaffZone access restored<\/strong> and can be used as normal<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity is-style-default\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why we Rollover<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>LearnZone and HE LearnZone both go through&nbsp;the annual rollover process to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 30%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide continuity for our learners\u200b. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide a repository of assessments in line with awarding bodies requirements\u200b.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clean our installation to meet our GDPR responsibilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Update and improve\u200b facilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimise the costs of subscriptions such as Turnitin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"711\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/06\/update@4x-1024x711.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6211 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/06\/update@4x-1024x711.png 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/06\/update@4x-300x208.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/06\/update@4x-768x533.png 768w, https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/06\/update@4x-1536x1066.png 1536w, https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/06\/update@4x-2048x1422.png 2048w, https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/06\/update@4x-1440x1000.png 1440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-default\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Information<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This year we will be hosting courses for both the 2021\/22, 2022\/23, and 2023\/24 academic years within the same site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the rollover process is complete <a href=\"https:\/\/learnzone.loucoll.ac.uk\/login\/index.php\">learnzone.loucoll.ac.uk <\/a>will load the new 2023\/24 courses to the front page of the site.  Staff and learners will be able to access the 2021\/21 and 2022\/23 courses via:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Their <strong>My Courses<\/strong> page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>22\/23 Courses<\/strong> category on the site front page. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>21\/22 Courses<\/strong> category on the site front page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff will have access to all of the same courses for 2023\/24 as they do currently. However, access to the 2021\/22 and 2022\/23 courses will be set to <strong>READ-ONLY<\/strong> unless edit access is requested.\u200b  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>*Note<\/strong> HELearnZone will continue to use the 2022\/23 course pages until the start of the autumn term. After the 25th July 2022 staff who are preparing for the 2023\/24 academic year should only make changes to courses in the <strong>23\/24 Course<\/strong> <strong>category<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-default\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you need to do<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>As usual, you will need to update contact details, assessment&nbsp;schedules, and handbooks to ensure they are correct for the next academic year\u200b. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will need to continue to check the accessibility of any of your resources to meet the accessibility legislation. If a document is not accessible you should hide this resource until it has been checked or remove it from the site. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/category\/news\/accessibility\/\" target=\"_blank\">Follow this link for our blogs on accessibility.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 22%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Turnitin assignments will also need to be recreated as these are not copied into the new Courses on the LearnZone site to reduce subscription costs. However, you and your learners will continue to have read-only access\u200b to any work previously submitted during 2022\/23 academic year.<\/p>\n<\/div><figure 21%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Like last year, learners will only be able to enrol themselves on courses, units or modules until the end of September.\u200b After this initial period, future enrolments will be managed by staff<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/2021\/10\/01\/enrol-or-unenrol-a-learner-on-a-learnzone-course\/\" target=\"_blank\"> adding students to LearnZone manually<\/a>.
