Font size varies dependent on the device being used, but a typical range of 4 to 36 is achievable.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\"><li><strong>Page display<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Students&nbsp;are able to&nbsp;choose between&nbsp;single or double page&nbsp;displays.&nbsp;Options are also available to read in landscape mode and to hide the menus to read with the text fit-to-page.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\"><li><strong>Colour overlays<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>There are 7 dyslexia friendly colours overlays to choose from.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-5.png\" alt=\"Background colour overlays that are available\" class=\"wp-image-6092\" width=\"419\" height=\"192\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-5.png 558w, https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-5-300x138.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 419px) 100vw, 419px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\"><li><strong>Text to speech<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-6.png\" alt=\"Read Aloud tool being used\" class=\"wp-image-6093\" width=\"404\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-6.png 605w, https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-6-300x239.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 404px) 100vw, 404px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The text to speech is based on automatic machine reading, rather than a person\u2019s recorded voice.&nbsp;This feature is also available on selected journal articles on the library database (and in some instances, a choice of accent).&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This feature is not compatible with JAWs in the read online function, but the downloaded version is. Downloads use Adobe Digital Editions, which is a free software.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\"><li><strong>Dictionary (left hand menu)&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-7.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-7.png\" alt=\"Dictionary tool search\" class=\"wp-image-6094\" width=\"422\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-7.png 740w, https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/files\/2021\/05\/image-7-300x152.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 422px) 100vw, 422px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"6\"><li><strong>Highlighting,&nbsp;annotation, chapter headings&nbsp;and search within (left hand menu)<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Useful for students who may not be able to easily scan read documents, as well as convenient when using larger&nbsp;text books&nbsp;to jump ahead to the relevant sections.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"7\"><li><strong>Alt tags (background assistance)&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Alt-tags are in the background of digital files and used as a means of describing images to people using assistive technology. These tags are provided by the publisher to our eBook supplier, so there is an element of inconsistency in some cases. However, our eBook platform supports screen readers in accessing this information when it has been provided by the publisher. Please note, book covers don\u2019t normally include descriptive tags.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"8\"><li><strong>Navigation&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the navigation features already mentioned above,&nbsp;VLE books support keyboard shortcuts to navigate.
