If you&#8217;re an organizer or a presenter, you can choose anyone&#8217;s video (including your own) to be the main video people see.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As a lecturer, you may wish to focus the &#8216;spotlight&#8217; on specific individuals when asking questions, almost as if you were in the classroom directing questions at specific individuals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You could use spotlighting for many obvious teaching, learning or assessment purposes including the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Direct questioning to learners<\/li><li>Short presentations or verbal answers to questions<\/li><li>AfL activities (particularly self and peer assessment)<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can already predict this feature might make it easier for you to gauge a specific learner&#8217;s engagement and level of understanding for a particular segment or activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One example that may provide useful when spotlighting could be to ask students to hold up their written work or answers to a question\/exam question live on screen making it easier for other learners to provide peer assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can follow these simple instructions or watch the video below to learn more about how to use the spotlight feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spotlight someone else&#8217;s video<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a couple of different ways to do it:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Right-click on the person&#8217;s video itself and select&nbsp;<strong>Spotlight&nbsp;<\/strong>from the menu.<\/li><li>Alternatively, you can select&nbsp;<strong>Show participants<\/strong>&nbsp;to see a list of everyone in the meeting<strong>.<\/strong>&nbsp;Find the name of the person whose video you want to highlight in the list, right-click on their name, and select&nbsp;<strong>Spotlight<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>When you&#8217;re ready to end the spotlight, right-click again and choose&nbsp;<strong>Stop spotlighting<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spotlight your own video<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To highlight your own video for everyone else:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Show participants<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Under&nbsp;<strong>Participants<\/strong>, right-click on your name and select&nbsp;<strong>Spotlight<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Right-click again and choose\u00a0<strong>Stop spotlighting<\/strong>\u00a0to exit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Video Tutorial<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"How to use Spotlight in Microsoft Teams Meetings\" width=\"439\" height=\"247\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6b39D1rfxXc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Further Help, Support &amp; Links<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/spotlight-someone-s-video-in-a-teams-meeting-58be74a4-efac-4e89-a212-8d198182081e\">https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/spotlight-someone-s-video-in-a-teams-meeting-58be74a4-efac-4e89-a212-8d198182081e<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What?
