{"id":3690,"date":"2015-09-24T08:39:12","date_gmt":"2015-09-24T08:39:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/?p=3690"},"modified":"2015-09-25T08:50:09","modified_gmt":"2015-09-25T08:50:09","slug":"loughborough-college-supporting-international-cpd-online-course-for-teachers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/2015\/09\/24\/loughborough-college-supporting-international-cpd-online-course-for-teachers\/","title":{"rendered":"Loughborough College supporting international CPD online course for teachers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are proud to say we are currently involved in an exciting, international CPD project aimed at teachers in the Vocational and Educational sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Funded by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ufi.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">UFI charitable Trust<\/a>, a consortium of educational establishments, led by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.education.leeds.ac.uk\/people\/academic\/morris\" target=\"_blank\">University of Leeds<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ioe.ac.uk\/staff\/LKLB_28.html\" target=\"_blank\">Institute of Education<\/a>, are developing a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) <em>\u2018Blended Learning Essentials: Getting Started\u2019 <\/em>on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futurelearn.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\">Future Learn <\/a>platform.<em>\u00a0 <\/em>As part of that consortium, Loughborough College is contributing a number of video case studies to highlight some of the blended teaching, learning, and assessment that is already successfully built into the curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>These will be used as examples throughout the course for teachers who are either just starting out or who want to enhance their current teaching, learning, and assessment with the use of learning technology. The focus of the case studies are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Adam Leeson<\/strong> \u2013 google classrooms with L2 anatomy and physiology sports students<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tim Turner<\/strong> \u2013 audio feedback with L2 public service students<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dan Vaughan<\/strong> \u2013 tools in LearnZone with L1 and L2 ICT functional skills students<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ewart Samuels<\/strong> \u2013 mahara ePortfolio with L2 Motor Vehicle students<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stuart Carroll<\/strong> \u2013 online submission, marking and use of Turnitin with L2 electrical engineering students<\/li>\n<li><strong>Colin Power<\/strong> \u2013 technology, including QR codes and ClayFrame to support learners with foundation level students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The initial 5 week course is designed to <em>&#8220;promote effective practice and pedagogy in blended\u00a0learning&#8221;<\/em>.
