Open source code is typically created as a collaborative effort in which programmers improve upon the code and share the changes within the community.\u00a0As a development model open source promotes universal access via free license to a product&#8217;s design and free redistribution of that design, which includes any changes or improvements made to the original.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For example:<\/strong> an online course like on Learnzone might be open source, that would then be available to the public to edit, amend, repurpose and importantly, be tailored for different uses and audiences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Open source: refers to a computer program in which the source code is available to the general public for use and\/or modification from its original design.
