{"id":10514,"date":"2025-06-17T17:32:21","date_gmt":"2025-06-17T17:32:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/?p=10514"},"modified":"2025-06-18T10:18:30","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T10:18:30","slug":"teams-rollover-update-25-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.loucoll.ac.uk\/learningtechnology\/2025\/06\/17\/teams-rollover-update-25-26\/","title":{"rendered":"Teams rollover update 25\/26"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Teams&#8217; rollover will take place during CPD week, <strong>Wednesday 2nd&nbsp;<\/strong>to&nbsp;<strong>Friday 4th&nbsp;July<\/strong>.&nbsp;Unlike LearnZone, Teams will remain live and accessible during this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year&#8217;s update will bring <strong>three big changes:<\/strong> auto-archiving of Class Teams, a new way to create Teams, and Turnitin for summative assessment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Archiving Class Teams<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Teams<\/strong> <strong>sites<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>used<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>for<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>teaching<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>will<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>automatically be archived<\/strong>.&nbsp;Staff and students will still be able to access archived Teams from &#8220;<strong>Your Teams and Channels<\/strong>&#8221;&nbsp;in read-only mode. Owners of the Teams can&nbsp;restore them as required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is to ensure that students are not accessing pages unsupervised and to preserve the team for future access if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teams sites that span across multiple academic years can be restored; however, the naming convention needs to meet the following standard: &#8220;<strong>name of Team<\/strong>&#8220;, &#8220;<strong>academic year<\/strong>&#8220;, and &#8220;<strong>ProSolution course code<\/strong>&#8221; (for example, <em>Knitting year 2 &#8211; 25\/26 &#8211; KFH5021<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watch the video below to learn how to restore an archived Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Restoring an archived Team\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/1092791394?h=15ee7a1e14&amp;dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"439\" height=\"247\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Creating a new Team<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The way you create Teams is changing. To create a new Team, you will now be required to <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=mTIMqd4rdEaitViOIeVBUuKIHbuGkoxFg9_KwUg4XNhUOFlPODJWWE4yMVc4MUVVMTlXVEQyMUVPOSQlQCN0PWcu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>complete this Form<\/strong><\/a>. The Team will then be set up automatically using the information you provide. The creation of the Team might take a few minutes.
