COLLEGE STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT VALUE OF DISCIPLINE

    December 12th, 2012

LOUGHBOROUGH COLLEGE engineering lecturer Stuart Carroll, took time out to talk to Motor Vehicle students about his passion for taking part in Mixed Martial Arts, through his involvement with the Leicester Shootfighters team.

The Shootfighters are Leicestershire’s oldest and most accomplished MMA and Submission Wresting team and one of the UK’s longest running MMA clubs having trained students for over 10 years.

Through showing two Shootfighters preparing for an important fight, Stuart  gave Motor Vehicle students an insight into how the fighters discipline goes beyond fighting in the cage. He said: “The discipline they have in the cage extends to how they live their lives out of the cage and how they benefit from dedicated physical training.’

This certainly got the message across to Ashley Cochrane and Connor Mills, both Year 11 Level 2 Schools Links students.

Ashley remarked: “I was inspired by how committed they are to devoting their life to the sport and what can be achieved through real dedication.”

Connor added: “Watching what the fighters go through in preparing for a fight learnt me the importance of discipline.’
