COLLEGE TIPS ON KEEPING SAFE THIS CHRISTMAS

    December 6th, 2012

ORGANISER Nicola Wells says it’s no co-incidence the third running of Loughborough College’s annual Health and Wellbeing Fair is being staged next week.

“The day is packed with information and advice aimed at ensuring everyone has a merry and a safe Christmas,” she said.“Numbers of people attending increases year on year and we are expecting a very good turnout in the Radmoor Sports Hall on Tuesday from 10.30pm to 1.30pm.”

Nicola said that the theme of Tuesday’s event is alcohol awareness and personal safety and added: “We’ve got backing from the NHS and a host of stalls passing on important tips. There’s the attraction of free health checks, along with the NHS’ smoking cessation campaign and advice on safe sex, money management, physical fitness, mental health and domestic violence.”

Special guest this year is fast-emerging Leicester Riders basketball ace Connor Washington, a Loughborough College student and member of the Loughborough basketball programme. Nicola also hopes further members of the team which is currently dominating British basketball will be in attendance.
