ANN BULLOCK today praised all the people who play a part in making the College’s Star Awards an eagerly awaited annual event.
“We’ve come a long way since the first night at Loughborough Town Hall in 2009,” she said. “Whilst it remains true to its original concept of being a celebration of staff achievement during the year, it has become more than that. It has become a show and, for that, we should thank the students who contribute their talents in areas including art, IT, hospitality and music as part of their assessments. There are also staff who put in long hours outside of their ‘day jobs’ to enable us to stage the event. Then we have the backing of sponsors. I thought it would be more difficult to attract backing than it actually was.”
Full list of sponsors from Friday’s event were:
- Apricot Training,
- bp Management and Marketing Services,
- Cygnet Business Development Ltd,
- emCETT (East Midlands Centre for Excellence in Teacher Training),
- Eyre and Elliston,
- Imago,
- Kaizen Training,
- Loughborough University,
- Nottingham Trent University,
- Pragna Maisuria,
- RSC/JISC,
- Twenty One Leadership,
- University of Derby,
- University of Warwick and URGO (Medical).
One person Ann missed out, of course, is herself! Our thanks go to her for the countless hours she puts into Star Awards.
