HELP FOR CHLAMYDIA SUFFERERS

February 9th, 2012

LOUGHBOROUGH  has a high number of people testing positive for the sexual infection Chlamydia – but help is readIly available, a visitor to College said today.

Rebecca Hancock,  the NHS’ county lead Chlamydia health promotion specialist, came back to College today to take part in our Healthy Relationships campaign in the B-Block foyer.

A regular visitor to College events, she said: “We’re here to offer a service to young people – one that is particuiarly relevant because of high positivity in the Loughborough area. Anyone who has had sexual contact without a barrier method could be affected.  It can, however, be treated with four anti biotic tablets.

“Students do approach us with their concerns and we are only too pleased to help and provide reassurance.  Events such as today’s are a good thing. It’s a positive thing when the College joins with outside agencies providing services to young people.”
